This past Saturday, the Kuwaiti Embassy in London hosted a significant international charity event to mark the 125th anniversary of the Kuwait-British partnership. This milestone celebration was not only a tribute to the enduring relationship between Kuwait and the United Kingdom but also a significant humanitarian effort supporting global charitable causes.

The evening was attended by notable figures including Mayor of Kensington Councilor Preety Hudd, her deputy Dori Schmetterling, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to the UK, Bader Al-Awadhi. Ambassadors and representatives from several countries, including Mexico, Kenya, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Maldives, Pakistan, Morocco, and Algeria, were also present, adding to the event’s international significance.
In his speech, Ambassador Al-Awadhi expressed his pride in hosting such an important charitable and cultural event. He highlighted the importance of using culture as a bridge to promote understanding and human values worldwide. Mayor Preety Hudd praised the event as a groundbreaking gesture in the UK, noting the Kuwaiti Ambassador’s personal commitment to this unique occasion.

Proceeds from the evening’s activities will benefit charitable organisations, including the Felix Association, which focuses on food preservation and distribution to those in need. The event was organised in collaboration with the Young Diplomats Association in London, the International Hospitals Group, and Cleveland Specialist Hospital in London, further enhancing its charitable impact.
